  1. Bob says:

Hi so I was just checking this for the Hush order but when I started reading the comics between Hush part 1 and 2 Batman has a different suit for Hush then all the other comics is there an explanation for that because im confused?

    • Hey Bob, not sure what you mean. Batman has the same costume throughout all his comics in the early 2000s. Which comics are you specifically referring to?

      • Bob says:

I meant for Batman Hush because he had a new suit in that comic than his other suit he wore so only Batman Hush.

        • Hey Bob, it’s definitely Jim Lee’s first go-around at drawing Batman, so he’s spiffed it up a bit by introducing new hypersonic weapons and new cowl-tech, but it’s the same costume as every other title surrounding it. As I said, Batman wears the same costume throughout the early 2000s. If you are referring to the new gadgets, that’s par for the course. Batman is constantly adding new toys.

          • Bob says:

Oh So thats why I was so confused thank you so much!

            • Bob says:

I also researched that costume Batman had he got it right after No Mans Land, Batman vol 1 #575 until the issues before Final Criss and for Detective Comics 742-850 I think. I also have a question that where does the killing joke take place in the Rebirth timeline, where did you post it. Thank you very much and i’m looking forward for your Three Jokers placement!

              • I have The Killing Joke in Year Nine on the Rebirth Timeline. Everything on that timeline basically reflects the Modern Age in terms of order, so you’ll find it in and around other stories of that era, including “A Death in the Family”.

I placed Three Jokers immediately after Doomsday Clock in Year 18 (only in keeping with the chronology of Geoff Johns’ corpus). It really could go anywhere so long as it’s in-between Dark Nights: Metal and Alfred’s death. (In Three Jokers, we get a flashback to “Endgame” which directly connects to Dark Nights: Metal, while Alfred is featured in Three Jokers as well.) Honestly, the earlier the placement, maybe the better, so it is possible that it goes before Doomsday Clock too. Jury is still out.

  2. JDMA12 says:

Sorry if those are already there, but I think I found other 2 issues Batman appears: Titans #20 and Starman #73.

    • Thanks again! I think when I assembled this time period over a decade ago, the lists I was working off of were incomplete, so I’ve apparently missed a few things! I really appreciate this information, and I will add.

  3. JDMA12 says:

So, I was recently reading the 2004 DC Comics apresents volume, and I think those aren’t here. Batman appears in the Batman, Justice League of America and Green Lanrern one-shots of that series. The first story of the JLA one is non-canon, but the rest is probably fitting enough, although there is the entire “Wonder Woman appearing as a JL member on its early days” during a era where she shouldn’t, I’m not sure how those go, considering post-IC retcons.

    • Hey JD, thanks for this note. I def read these decades ago and ruled them out, but on quick glance, aside from the first JLA story (as you say), I think the rest are canon. I will check them out and see about adding them 🙂

  4. Nathan says:

Hi Colin. Awesome going with this site. I’m looking to read ‘Arkham Asylum:Living Hell’

However, I’ve noticed that it’s been placed further ahead in the chronology than The Killing Joke, obviously Barbra is left paralysed after the events of said story but she stars in Living Hell as Batgirl?

Forgive me if I’m missing something here.

    Thanks!

    • Hi Nathan, thanks for your kind words! Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #3 contains a flashback that shows the origin of villain Humpty Dumpty. The flashback also details Batgirl’s very first mission (versus Humpty Dumpty).
